Breaking News: The War is Over- Nyako has been impeached


Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa


He put up a valiant fight but few minutes ago, the embattled  Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, was impeached by the state House of Assembly,

This is coming hours after his deputy Bala Ngilari, resigned from office to avoid being impeached and his resignation letter was read at plenary by the speaker of the Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, after which the lawmakers approved it.

According to the Force Spokesperson, ACP Frank Mba, Following the massive onslaught by Security Forces on the activities of the insurgent group, Boko Haram, at the Balmo Forest Bauchi State, Police detectives attached to Bauchi State Police Command on Saturday, 12/7/2014 about 2pm have arrested one Mohammed Zakari, a male of 30 years old and senior member of the Boko Haram terrorists’ organization along Darazo-Basrika Road while fleeing from the intensive counter insurgency operations going on around the Balmo Forest.

Police Arrest Cultists, kidnappers, Others


The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with cultism, kidnapping and 
armed robbery and also recovered three locally made pistols and a cache of ammunition.

While the duo of Sunday Onwe and Ijoko Samuel were arrested for cultism and other related Offences, Ugochukwu Nwafor was arrested for armed robbery and one Ojo was also arrested for attempted kidnapping.

Chibok Girls: Ezekwesili, Others Urge FG for Tangible Rescue Results

Defying the rain and the attendant flood, the #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group weekend, continued its outcry urging the Federal Government (FG) to expedite action in the rescue of the nearly 300 school girls of Chibok Government College, Borno State.

Representing the group, the former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, made this disclosure at the Speak-Out-Saturday rally organised by the Women for Peace and Justice Coalition held at the Marina Waterfront, CMS, Lagos.

BRT Bus Kills Commercial Motorcyclist, Passengers


Barely three days after the incident involving the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT)buses and the military, where one of the buses crushed a soldier to death, yet another incident with the BRT took place yesterday, this time, sending three people, a motorcyclist and his two male passengers, to an early grave. Eyewitnesses said the incident happened when the motorcyclist who was fleeing from policemen who were chasing him for plying the highway, against the law, ran into a BRT Bus while in motion.

Damboa Attack: 63 Abducted Women Escape Boko Haram Captivity

Sixty-three (63) women who were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents in parts of Borno state, about two weeks ago, may have escaped captivity and returned  back to their homes, security sources revealed Sunday.
Some witnesses told reporters that the women surprisingly who emerged in large numbers on Saturday must have taken the opportunity of relaxed watch on the camps where they were held hostage to escape.

Apapa Blasts: Arrest of 50 Suspects was Pre-emptive, Say Police


Almost a week after about 50 suspects were picked up from different parts of Lagos State, following the twin explosions that rocked a tank farm along Creek Road in Apapa, killing four persons, the police have said the arrests were preemptive raids.
As at yesterday, it was still unclear if the suspects, who were mostly foreigners, had been cleared or charged as the police had planned earlier.
The police had days after the blast kicked off a massive mop up of suspects and transferred them to the state Special Investigation Bureau (SIB), Ikeja where they were profiled.

THE SUSPECTS 
The operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) of the Nigeria Police yesterday paraded a political thug, one Omoniyi Ajewole, alongside his boss Odeyemi Itunnu aka Gomina, who claimed to be the executive assistant to the Ekiti State Governor, in connection with car robbery.

The purported chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was arrested by the police led by the Commissioner of Police FSARS, Chris Ezike, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, for allegedly arming his political thug, who in turn alongside his gang used the gun to snatch cars in different parts of the country.
