Six Issues, the Magazine has been translated to over 6 foreign languages including Russian and Spanish, through the exhibition side of the brand we have also educated over 2000 students, as we did during the Lagos book and art festival 2013.

 President of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON) Dr. Ona Ekhomu, yesterday commended northern political leaders for finally supporting the war against Boko Haram terrorists.

Ekhomu who was reacting to the recent deadly attacks on Izghe Community in Gwoza LGA and Kondugha town in Borno State that claimed over 200 lives, said the support of northern political elite was important to create a synergy in the successful prosecution of the war on terror.

EXCLUSIVE: IG's Wife Visits Lagos on official capacity, pledge to help widows of slain officers


In what is deemed as perhaps her first official assignment, the wife of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mrs Zahra-Bunu Abubakar, visited Lagos today. She was the guest of honour at Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) commissioning of their Lagos office at Oduduwa Crescent, Ikeja.
 
While commissioning the multi-purpose hall, named after Mariam Abubakar, the late wife of the IGP, she said that lack of funds was hindering the  from assisting its members and wives of slain officers in distress.

In line with their sworn resolve at tackling headlong security challenges such as terrorism, insurgency, kidnapping and other crimes and criminalities besetting Nigeria and Pakistan, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar, and the Pakistani High Commissioner to Nigeria pledged mutual collaboration and assistance to each other.

The IGP made this disclosure through CSP Frank Mba, the Force PRO, today at the Force Headquarters Abuja during the courtesy visit of the Pakistani High Commissioner, Lt. Gen (Rtd) Muhammed Ashraf Saleem to the IGP.

EXCLUSIVE: Tiwa Savage Made Written Statement Apologising for Assaulting our officer, Police Insist




Hours after she allegedly assaulted a male traffic warden at the Victoria Island area of Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command today insisted that the female songbird and current Forte Oil Ambassador, Tiwa Savage,  had made her apology in a written statement. The police was reacting to recent claims from some quarters that Savage had not assaulted the police officer, rather she was a victim of police brutality.
Savage had on Saturday allegedly beat traffic light at Victoria Island and when confronted by some traffic wardens, she was said to have sped off. Eyewitness account said the police gave chase and when they caught up with her at Eko Hotel and Suites premises, she was said to have assaulted the police officer, prompting them to arrest her.

Chiemelie Ezeobi writes that the Slum-to-School, a social advocacy group, has embarked on the 1000 Voices Campaign targeted at enrolling 1000 less privileged slum kids into school this September at no extra cost to their parents

"I had always wanted to go to school but my parents could not afford it with the little money they make from fishing. I was always sad each time I see school children in uniform. I did not want to end up a fisherman like my father or fish seller like my mother."

Until February 5 this year 34 year old   suspected fraudster, Victor Ekong, who is presently being detained at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, had allegedly impersonated the likes of Inspector General of police Mr Mohammed Abubakar. Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to defraud foreign nationals, especially, the Americans.

Aside from impersonating the bosses of these agencies, the  Cross River State born fraudster  who signed various letters of authorisation posed  as a contract  verification officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,

But like the popular maxim that many days are for the thief and just one day to the house owner, the long arm of the law caught him a forth night ago as detectives from X squad at Ogba nabbed him while cruising to Alausa, Ikeja for undisclosed mission.

Nigerian Navy charged to tackle piracy


The Nigerian Navy have been charged to tackle the problems of sea pirates attacking fishing trawlers at sea and preventing the continuous exploitation of the country’s economic resources for the benefit of all.  The Assistant Director of Fisheries at the Federal Department of Fisheries, Mrs. S.A. Kupolati who gave the charge lamented the inability of fishing trawlers from exploiting the sea due to the continuous harassment of sea pirates which sometimes lead to loss of lives.
She spoke while taking over an arrest fishing trawler, caught by operatives of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft for illegally fishing within the country’s territorial waters.
