A Spaniard, Jose Anthronio Murili Turrillo, who was kidnapped and held captive in a hotel room in Benin City, the Edo State capital last Saturday, was yesterday recued by Policemen of the state police command. The victim was said to have been lured from Spain by his lover, Okafor Ada Joy, aged 28, where alongside one Kenny Oyemwina, aged 25, allegedly took Turrillo hostage and dispossessed him all the money he had.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Folusho Adebanjo, who briefed journalists on the successes recorded by his command in the fight against crime, said: “Investigation revealed that the female suspect is the Spanish lover who lured him from his country to Nigeria and made him to withdraw all the money he had in his domiciliary account.

“When the two suspects discovered that their victim had no money on him and in his account again, they forced him to call his sister in Spain to send 2000 Euros to them before he will be allowed to go back to Spain.”
Adebanjo, who disclosed that the two suspects have been arrested and would soon be charged to court, added that it was the sister of the victim in Spain, “who reported to the International Police (INTERPOL) in Spain, who in turn contacted the Nigeria INTERPOL and Edo State Command.”
Meanwhile, two suspects, Iyen Osahon (19), and Esochuckwu Okorie (22) have been arrested by the police for drugging and raping a 16-year-old girl in a hotel room.
The victim told the police that she knew Osahon through Facebook.
Adebanjo said: “The two suspects who were said have made confessional statements would soon be charged to court.”
