IG Redeploys 14 Commissioners, Retains Controversial Rivers CP

In hisefforts to reposition the Nigeria Police Force for greater efficiency and better performance in the fight against crime and criminality, the Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mohammed Abubakar, has ordered the redeployment of 14 Commissioners of Police to commands and formations across the country.
The 14 newly-redeployed CPs are: Lawal Tanko, CP Borno State, Ibrahim Ahmed, CP Zamfara State, Hilary Okpara, CP Bayelsa State, Maigari Dikko, Ebonyi, Adebayo Ajileye, CP Inspectorate ‘E’ Dept, FHQ,  Adeola A. Adeniji       CP Border Patrol, Waheed O. Salau       CP Airport, Markus Danladi,     Commandant, Police College, Maiduguri, Tonye E. . Ebitibituwa, 
CP Training ‘E’ Dept, FHQ Hyacint M. Dagala,    Deputy Commandant, POLAC, Kano, DCP Lawal Shehu,        CP Admin, ‘E’ Dept, FHQ, DCP Ibrahim Adamu,     Deputy Force Secretary DCP Abdul D. Danwawu, and        CP Armament DCP Salisu Abdullahi,       CP ‘x’ Squad. All postings are with immediate effect.
In a statement signed by the Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), the affected CPs were urged to step up the fight against all forms of criminality in their new commands and formations, and  to leverage on the cordial relationship among sister security agencies in their respective beats to ensure that criminal activities are reduced to the barest minimum.
Abubakar charged them to ensure that officers and men under their supervision were mindful of the rights of the citizenry, while cultivating the trust and confidence of the public in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
In the same vein, the IG has sent the Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and CPs, who were currently serving in police commands and formations, including zonal commands and Force Headquarters, to proceed on a Leadership and Strategic Management Course for senior officers.
The affected officers are: AIG David O. Omojola, AIG Christopher Terhem Dega,  AIG Tambari Y. Mohammed, AIG Mark Adamu Idakwo,  AIG Sule Mamman, and AIG Adisa Baba Bolanta.
The CPs are  Isaac Chinyerem Eke,  Marcus Danladi, Ahmed Ibrahim, Salisu Garba, Kudu Nma, Umaru U. Shehu, Usman Isa Baba, Saidu Madawaki, Usman Yakubu, Abdulmajid Ali, Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, Kayode Aderanti, and Abdul Salami Iyaji.
The course, which is conducted at the Centre for Management Development, Shangisha, Lagos, commenced Monday, and would end on  August 23.
The course, it was gathered, was geared towards equipping the senior officers with requisite leadership and managerial skills necessary for driving the vision and mission of the current police management in line with ongoing reforms of the federal government. training and re-training of officers and men of the NPF as a cardinal policy of the present police administration.
