Plane Crash in Lagos Claims 14 Lives, 6 Injured








A small chartered passenger plane, belonging to the associated airline, and carrying about 20 people including the body of the late governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Agagu has shortly after its takeoff crashed at the local wing of the Lagos airport on Thursday morning, leaving at least 5 people dead including MIC chairman, Tunji Okunsanya and his son.

Spokesman to the Aviation Ministry, Joe Obi said some passengers in the plane survived the crashed, which was flying from Lagos to Akure, with seven crew and 20 passengers, bringing the total of people on board to 20. Obi said The plane couldn’t lift properly so it just came down. Also, Yakubu Dati, general manager of Nigeria’s airports authority, confirmed the incident, adding that 14persons were killed while 6 were injured.
