Mile 2 is currently a hot spot for crime and this young man
above was robbed and bloodied today at the area, prompting the Executive
Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale to wonder
why there has been increase in police brutality, robbery attacks on innocent
citizens and residents in the Local Government despite police presence.
He said, “I am surprised that security of lives and
properties are no longer guaranteed in the Local government. We have been
having several armed robbery attacks in Festac Town and Mile 2 estate in recent
times. In fact, the Lagos State Governor’s Aunty was robbed at gun point in
Festac Town and two resident were shot at their head, this is worrisome and
becoming unbecoming”, he noted.

The Local Government boss emphasized that residents now live
in fear because security is no longer guaranteed. It is so sad because the Area
E command of the Nigeria Police is domicile in the local government under the
leadership of ACP Dan Okoro and yet criminally is on its highest without any
respite of hope for residents.
Comrade Adewale used the occasion to appeal to the Lagos
State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, to intervene in the security
challenges the Local Government has to contend with now.
It would be recalled that the Community Policing Youth
Vanguard set up by the Area E Commander, ACP Dan Okoro has also been
terrorizing, intimidating and attacking law abiding citizens, council officials
and State Government officials in recent times, and all efforts to curtail
their nefarious activities have so far proved abortive.
