Flood menace
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has again alerted the State governments of a looming  humanitarian danger posed by the threat of flood disaster following heavy rainfall predictions for 2013. The agency's  Director General, Mr. Mohammad Sani-Sidi gave the warning in Abuja  Weddesday at a meeting with the Imo State deputy governor, Mr. Eze Madumere.

He said the fresh alert has become necessary in view of the apparent lukewarm attitude over previous early warning alerts which led to high level of havoc caused by the 2012 flooding in the state.
According to Sani-Sidi, the 2013 Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) prediction indicates likelihood of even more rainfall with a high possibility of flooding across the country.
