A week after he was declared
wanted by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the abduction of
seven-year-old Emeka Emmanuel and eight others, Mr. Ernest Nwankwo was
yesterday apprehended by the police.
The suspect who is the pastor
and General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy, at Ogolonto,
Ikorodu area of the state, was arrested at the Ebute Metta area.
Nwankwo had fled from the church
on Wednesday last week after his accomplices were picked up the police and had
gone into hiding to evade arrest.
The arrest of the Nsugbe ,
Anambra State indigene was confirmed last night by the state Police Public
Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who said the suspect was picked up by the
State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba .
