Exclusive: Late Layelmenson was NAF's youngest T-winged fighter pilot

The late Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilot, Flying Officer, Ayuba Joab Layelmenson who died alongside Squadron Leader Benjamin Ben Ado, on Monday at Niamey, Niger Republic, when their aircraft crashed, was NAF's youngest T-wined fighter pilot.

According to one of his friend's and coursemate; Ahmed Abah, although the deceased had set out to be a neuro-surgeon in the Nigerian Navy, fate however took him to the Nigerian Air Force where he proved his mettle.

A Facebook tribute account which was opened in his honour yesterday by one Yaswarsu Yabilusu, had already garnered over 900 tributes, encomiums, and heart rendering cries. Although ther were from different persons, they all had one thing in common; they all commented on the sheer brilliance and unassuming nature  of Layelmenson.

Nicknamed Schwepps by his friends and coursemates alike, the deceased was a member of the 57 Regular Course at the NDA as well as the Delta Company in Greece where he emerged as the best student in academics in his set.
