The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Monday received a massive boost as telecommunications giant, Globacom, signed N1.89bn three-year title sponsorship deal with the League Management Company (LMC), in Lagos.

Speaking at the contract signing ceremony at the Mike Adenuga Towers on Adeola Odeku Street in Victoria Island, Lagos Monday, the Group Chief Operating Officer of Globacom, Mohammed Jameel, said that the decision of the telecommunication giant to partner the LMC on the NPFL was to prove its confidence in the Nduka Irabor-led team.
“Today, we are witnessing the appointment of Globacom as the title sponsor of the Glo Premier League. We thank the Honourable Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdulah, for his efforts to resolve all the issues surrounding the league title sponsorship. We also thank members of the League Management Company (LMC) for all the significant strides they are making to develop the Nigerian professional football league,” observed Jameel at the return of Globacom to the Nigerian pro league.
While admitting that Globacom would have entered into the partnership long before Monday, Jameel expressed confidence in the new LMC as a body capable of handling the league to produce the desired result for all stakeholders.
