EXCLUSIVE: Five Alleged Fake Naval Officers Arrested in Lagos

THE ARRESTED PERSONS
No fewer than five  fake naval officers were arrested at the weekend in Lagos for allegedly involved in crime. The five fake naval men were arrested from a church at No27 Marine Road Apapa.
The arrest bring's to about 59 fake naval officers that have so far been arrested since the recent clamp down on the activities of miscreants in the metropolis.

Parading the suspects, the Commander, NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Chris Ezekobe stated that the fake officers were recruited and trained at a secrete camp located within the premises of the Federal College of Fishery and Marine Technology, Victoria Island, Lagos.


Commodore Ezekobe stated that the initial raid was jointly carried out be naval personnel, policemen from Bar Beach Police Station and staff of Eti Osa local Government following series of complain from the school authority.

"During the raid, the joint task force accosted a white bus fully loaded with fake naval officers parked in front of the school. When interrogated they claimed that they were on their way to imo state for a wedding" he added.

The Commander of NNS BEECROFT further stated that about 53 persons dressed in full naval uniforms arrested and handed over to the police

Commodore Ezekobe stated further that beside the arrest, the investigations joint carried out be the task force team revealed that a lot of atrocities were being carried out by some group of people who claim to be student of the school.

"It was discovered that some people were involved in the illegal recruitment and training of miscreants in weapon handling inside the school premises and that they had had running battle with the school authority who could not check their activities hence the report.
He called on the Ministry of Agric to step into the matter as the activities of miscreants have taken over the school.
