The Lagos State Police Command, weekend, arrested two suspects, a prophet, Dare Akinrosoye with the Star Glory Church located at Egbe area of the state and his accomplice, Kunle Olaide, for possession of fresh human parts.
Some of the fresh human parts concealed in the bag were five fingers, human heart, liver, kidney, intestines and two pairs of slippers as well as blood filled in two Ragolis bottle water plastics.
According to reports, although one of the suspects got away, the prophet's accomplice, Olaide was arrested by policemen attached to Ikotun Division who were on patrol on Saturday morning.
On sighting Olaide who was with a Ghana-must-go bag, the suspicion of the officers were aroused and when they requested to see the contents of the bag, one of the suspects who was with Olaide fled.
When the bag was finally opened after much resistance, fresh human parts including blood filled in two Ragolis bottle water plastics were discovered to the astonishment of all.
Also discovered and tied in a separate polythene bag were five fingers, human heart, liver, kidney and intestines, all concealed inside a plastic filled with water as well as the victim's pair of slippers.
However, during interrogation, Olaide claimed the bag was not his but given to him by his friend who bolted away for safe keeping.
THISDAY however gathered from police sources that Olaide and his fleeing partner had slept in a church the previous night and were going home the next morning when they were accosted by the police.
Based on his preliminary confession, police swung into action and arrested the prophet of the church. Both suspects are currently under custody at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba for further investigation.
When contacted, the state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chukwuma Ozoani, confirmed the arrests, adding that investigations are ongoing.
He said, "Olaide was arrested and based in his confession, the prophet was picked up because his church served as where the human parts were stored.
"The case has been transferred to SCID, Panti, where further investigation will unveil the victim. Meanwhile, the fresh human parts were taken to Isolo General Hospital for preservation."
