EXCLUSIVE: Lagos CP Moves to ban unregistered vehicles come February 13

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, has begun plans to stop the unlawful use of unregistered vehicles on the roads in the state. He frowned at the way and manner at which vehicle road users violate laws of the land by operating their vehicles on Lagos roads without registration.
While calling on motorists to make sure their vehicles are adequately registered, he said the Command would only give a grace of one month with effect from January 13.  Manko said after the expiration of the one month grace, the command would be left with no option than to commence a thorough clampdown on offenders and violators charged to court.

Navy Seizes Tanker Vessels with N2.4bn Crude Oil

The Central Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy has seized two vessels loaded with crude oil worth over N2.4billiion and also arrested 21 suspects  over crude oil theft. Confirming this, the Flag Officer Commanding, CNC, Rear Admiral Sidi-Ali Usman, said the seized vessels were impounded at Agbami Oil Field and Ebi creeks, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area  of  Bayelsa State.

He sad said although the suspects were all Nigerians, they did not have the permits for crude oil lifting, adding that they could not tender  relevant  documents from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for the required bunkering permit and  NNPC nomination  for crude oil lifting.

Again, Suicide Bomber Kills 17 in Maiduguri



At least, 17 persons were killed when suspected suicide bomber detonated bomb at the popular GSM Market near the Post Office in Maiduguri on Tuesday. The incident occurred at about 2p.m. shortly after the Zuhur prayers and has since been confirmed by Alhaji Lawan Tanko, Commissioner of Police in the State. The blast occurred at the GSM market after a suicide bomber driving in a firewood seller’s vehicle detonated his bomb around 1p.m.
