One of the five remaining survivors of the ill-fated Associated Airlines’ aircraft 5NBJY, which crashed in Lagos last week, killing 13 persons, on Tuesday night gave up the ghost despite concerted efforts to save him.

The aircraft, an Embraer 120 Turboprop series, had crashed within the premises of JUHEL and a Sahara tank farm, three minutes after take-off from the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

For three years, the  Brown family were kept in the dark as to their daughter's whereabouts until she was rescued by personnel attached to the Lagos State Police Command and her abductor who turned out to be the victim's fathers tenant was arrested.

The suspect who was identified as 37-year-old Ajibola Idowu, a satellite dish installer, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping the daughter of his landlord, Module Brown, kept her in captivity for three years and impregnated her.

The last may not have been heard concerning the survival or otherwise of the leader of the outlawed Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Abubkar Shekau, as a security analysis conducted by the Department of the State Security (DSS), yesterday revealed that the recent video appearance of the sect’s leader was unreal.
The security analysis of video revealed that the amateur replica cloned everything wrongly but was not categorical on the death of the terrorist as it waited on time to determine.

ICPC Seizes 100 Houses Owned by Corrupt Nigerians

No fewer than 100 houses located in Abuja and belonging to some Nigerians have been seized  by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Allied Offences Commission (ICPC). The houses, according to the Commission, were suspected  to have been acquired with  proceeds  from corruption.

One of the commissioners in ICPC, Mr Isa Salami, who  disclosed this to newsmen in Calabar,  Wednesday, said the  houses were seized in the past  four months.

EXCLUSIVE: Graduate Kidnappers Confess on How They kidnap little children


A university graduate and two other suspects in Lagos on Wednesday regaled us on how he and two others formed a syndicate which specialises in kidnapping little boys.
The suspects who are graduates of Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University, were identified as Gbenga Sholaja; Olalekan Benjamin and Samson Somorin, and were arrested by men of the Igando Police Division and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

After a long drawn battle, the embattled Speaker of the  Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr John  Clark Dabwan  finally resigned Wednesday. This in effect also followed  with the election of Mr Titus Alams as the   new Speaker.

Plane Crash: Senate Orders Probe, Summons Aviation Minister

The Senate Tuesday summoned the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, and the chief executives of the aviation parastatals to appear before it. They are expected to brief the chamber on the state of the aviation sector and the likely reasons for the high level of air disasters experienced in the country in recent times.
However, they would be appearing when the lawmakers reconvene on October 22. 
The Senate, which was just resuming from its one-week break, yesterday, adjourned for another two weeks to enable various committees complete their oversight duties in anticipation of 2014 budget.

The  pioneer National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the first civilian  Governor of Plateau State,  Chief  Solomon Daushep Lar, is dead. Lar,  according to  the  Chief Press Secretary to the  Plateau State Governor  Mr James James Mannok died in the United States of America.

Operatives of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF)   and Department of State Security Service (DSS) have  raided two hideout of the  Boko Haram  sect  in the outskirt of Kano  where several    weapons were discovered.
The Brigade Commander of the 3 Nigerian Army Bukavu Kano, Brigadier General Ilyasu Abbah and the State Director of the Department of State Security Service (DSS),  Mr. Bassey Ettang,  said the raid was conducted at Gunduwawa village of Gezawa local government of the state following a lead on intelligence report.

POLICE ARREST NINE SUSPECTED CULTISTS in Enugu



At least nine suspected cultists have been arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Enugu state police command. The arrest of the suspected cultists was preceded by the arrest of their suspected ring leader, identified as Mba Chukwuemeka, a.k.a, Dontiti by the operatives. He was arrested by the police at about 7 pm on Tuesday at Ngwo in Enugu State.
