Obama's Speech Sets Stage for Looming Policy Fights

President Barack Obama today read a second inaugural address that broadly lays out his vision for the country's future, setting the stage for looming debates over taxes, guns, immigration and other issues while leaving the details for another day.

The speech, slated right after Obama took an oath to "faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States" Monday on the Capitol's west front, includes no new policy, aides say. Rather, the president plans to use the moment as it traditionally has been in most of the 56 previous inaugurations — to talk about founding American values and their importance to the country's success today.

Obi Offers N5m Reward for Clue on Bodies Found in Anambra River

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State yesterday offered to pay N5 million as reward to anyone with useful information leading to the source of the unidentified corpses discovered floating on the Ezu River on Saturday.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Obi visited the Ezu River in Amansea, a border town with Enugu State, the scene where the corpses were still floating yesterday.

Passengers at Heathrow Airport face further delays on Sunday with about 20% of flights due to be cancelled as more snow is expected.
