Ex-militant, 4 Others Arrested for Arms Supply to Boko Haram

An ex-Niger Delta militant, Anietie Etim and four others who allegedly specialise in buying arms in Bakassi Peninsula for supply to the Boko Haram insurgents in the north have been arrested by the Police.
Other accomplices in the gun running business include Lawal Bako, Abdullahi Isa, Umaru Haruna and Alhaji Ahmadu all from Taraba State. They carefully constructed a special tank at the booth of an Audi salon car where they conceal arms for shipment to the north.

Rivers Crisis: Torture Allegations as Police Fail to Arraign Lloyd

The embattled Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd, was allegedly blindfolded and tortured by the police on his return to Port Harcourt Friday from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, before being taken to the Rivers State Police Command for interrogation.

Also yesterday, the Divisional Police Officer attached to Port Harcourt Airport was queried for allowing Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s aide de camp, Debeware Semeikumo, to travel abroad through the airport.

FG: ASUU May Call Off strike Next Week

The ongoing labour strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may likely be called off as a result of the recent breakthrough in negotiation with the Federal Government on some outstanding issues.
This is coming as the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim Friday in Abuja inaugurated  the Universities Needs Implementation Committee with Governor of Benue State Gabriel Suswam as its Chairman.
