Goldie's Shocking death

I'm in shock. Just got a call from her best friend and my

close friend, Denrele Edun. He told me Goldie died a few

 minutes ago in his arms at Reddington Hospital in Victoria

 Island. Goldie just came back from the US today he said,

 and was so full of life, then something went tragically wrong.

Will get all the details from him in a bit, he was crying so

much and had to switch off his phone. I'm shaking so bad.

 She and I had a conversation a few days ago while she

 was in the US. Oh dear Lord. Is this how people die?

 May her soul rest in peace..Amen.

The outgoing head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI, has hinted he will withdraw into seclusion after stepping down at the end of this month."Even if I am withdrawing into prayer, I will always be close to all of you... even if I remain hidden to the world," he told a meeting of Roman priests.

The pontiff, 85, shocked the world's biggest Christian Church on Monday when he announced his resignation. He cited his advanced age as the reason for resigning. The Vatican said on Thursday that Pope Benedict had hit his head during his March 2012 trip to Mexico, but denied the accident had any role in his decision to resign.

Pistorius faces murder charge

South African Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius is facing a murder charge after his girlfriend was shot and killed at his Pretoria home. His arrest over the death of model Reeva Steenkamp has stunned the country where he is considered a national hero. 

Its so ironic because in her last Twitter messages, Miss Steenkamp had spoken about her excitement about Valentine's Day. "What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow?'' she tweeted. "It should be a day of love for everyone.''

The 26-year-old is due to appear in court on Friday. Mr Pistorius made history in London last year when he became the first double-amputee track athlete to compete in the Olympic Games.

Encomiums were recently poured on Reverend Olu Odejimi as he gracefully clocked 70. To celebrate the auspicious moment, family, friends and business associates recently hosted him at the Shell Hall of Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos. The shindig also served as his retirement party from priesthood. 

Popularly called the Doyen, Odejimi was until his retirement the Vicar, All Souls Church (Anglican Communion), Lekki Phase 1, where he served judiciously for 10 years, turning the auspicious little church which held its first service under the open heavens into the dream church.

Seven months after the three members of staff of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) were murdered at Arepo Village, Owode in Ogun State, some of their alleged killers who are currently in police net finally confessed  why and how they perpetuated the act.

The suspects identified as Timi Koro and Wusaina Etipiwey were arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism Unit led by the officer in charge, Friday Ibadin, a Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The suspects were arrested at Abule Oba area of Ikorodu with 50 gallons of 50 liters of stolen PMS and a pump action gun when they were alighting from one of the boats that ferried them across the creeks to vandalise another NNPC pipeline.

While regaling onlookers with tales of how the deal was hatched and executed, one of the suspects, Koro, who admitted to being a part of the gang, said the gun found in their possession actually belongs to one of the leaders of union and was given to him for safe keeping.

David Mark Reveals Why Keshi Resigned

Senate President, David Mark, has attributed unnecessary interference in the job of the head coach of the Super Eagles as the reason why Stephen Keshi resigned from the post on Monday, 24 hours after leading Nigeria to win her third Africa Cup of Nations title.

Mark who spoke with Keshi on the telephone admitted that the Eagles coach told him that he was being compelled by the football authorities to accept the coming of a foreign technical adviser into the team's management.

The senate president who made this disclosure during the plenary session of the Senate, said the coming of technical advisers would not be necessary since Nigerians were happy working with the ex-international.

That is integrity. When the call to play for his fatherland came, he did not hesitate before embracing Nigeria. That is patriotism!

At the African Cup of Nations tournament, he played with commitment and zeal, bringing joy to every Nigerian, including those who may have inspired his parent’s death. That is Love! Last Sunday evening in Johannesburg, South Africa, he stood for the National Anthem and pledged allegiance to a country that couldn’t defend his parents. That is faith!

South African Olympic and Paralympic track star Oscar Pistorius, around 4am this morning shot dead hismodel girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, at his home in Pretoria. Friends of Oscar think its a Valentine's Day surprise gone wrong. Oscar, 26 and Reeva, 30, have been dating for many months. Reeve was shot several times in the head, chest and arm.
