Forbes Lists Don Jazzy Richest Musician in Nigeria

Nigeria’s multi-talented musician, Don Jazzy, has emerged the richest musician in the country, according to a rating of top 10 musicians in Africa done by Forbes, a leading source for reliable business news and financial information.

The list of the top 10 most bankable/richest artistes in Africa however put Jazzy at number two, coming behind Senegalese R&B crooner, Akon. Trailing Jazzy as the third richest musician in African, and the second in Nigeria, is the twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly known as P Square.

Suntai Heads to Court as PDP Affirms Umar Acting Governor

The Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, Tuesday instituted a law suit against the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Haruna Tsokwa, and members of the assembly challenging their refusal to allow him resume duty as governor.

The law suit by the governor coincided with the intervention of the Senator Hope Uzodinma-led Committee and the unanimous agreement reached by the committee and stakeholders in the state that the acting Governor of Taraba, Alhaji Garba Umar, should continue to run the state until Suntai is strong enough to resume duties.

57 House Members Cross over to New PDP

The crack in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appears to be widening by the day as no fewer than 57 members of the party in the House of Representatives have declared their support for the splinter group of the party. The defectors, appended their signatures to a declaration of loyalty to the New PDP. It was however learnt that the number might swell soon as other House members, including the Speaker, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, were expected to switch loyalty. The defectors said some lawmakers who ought to have signed the allegiance document, were not in town as the House is on recess, and would do so when they return.
