Playing had joked that the award's voting deadline was extended for the sake of the Real Madrid forward and in response, Ronaldo had suggested he may not go to the ceremony on January 13 in Zurich and instead stay in Madrid or go to Portugal.

SEASON OF OPEN LETTERS: Tolu Ogunlesi Writes President Jonathan One

Tolu Ogunlesi writes an open letter to President Jonathan, thereby joining the growing list of people writing an open letter, which started with former president, OBJ. For those who dont know Tolu, google is your friend but he is an award winning journalist with a knack for news. Read What Tolu said;
Dear Mr. President,
I am constrained to write this open letter to you before this season of letters comes to a close. I will go straight to the issues at stake. Let’s start with the level of toxic-ness in the air, sustained to a large extent by the attitude of your array of spokespersons, who today do little more than insult and dismiss everyone deemed to be an “enemy” of the President. Just as you have a point when you said that the easiest way to be deemed “progressive” is to abuse Jonathan, it has also become that criticising the President quickly earns one all sorts of unprintable labels from the your camp.
