Nigerian democracy activist and women's rights advocate
Dr. Josephine Okei-Odumakin, was one of the 10 phenomenal
women who were honored by US first lady, Michelle Obama
and US Secretary of State, John Kerry,
on Friday March 8th in the US.
Dr. Josephine, who is the president of Campaign for Democracy
and President of Women Arise for Change Initiative, was
presented with the Secretary of State’s International Women
of Courage Award by John Kerry and Michelle Obama at
a ceremony that held at the Dean Acheson Auditorium
of the U.S. Department of State.

The annual Secretary of State’s International Women
of Courage Award honors extra-ordinary women around
the world who have done great work in advocating
