The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Dr. Ade Abolurin while briefing the anti-vandal squad this morning tasks the personnel to have a working relationship with other security agencies of government in tackling the issue of vandalism and oil theft.
He urges the personnel to remain resolute and dogged in their drive in fighting the illicit act to a standstill without compromise.
According to Abolurin, the Federal Government through the enabling Act has mandated the Corps to carry out the function of mounting surveillance, protecting critical infrastructure of Government, arrest and prosecute anyone caught in the act of vandalism as well as those suspected to be collaborators.

At the briefing, he reiterates that though the Corps might be facing teething problems and challenges in terms of cooperation and assistance from some quarters but that should not deter them from discharging their duty based on their honesty of purpose and integrity in putting a stop to the unholy act.
He therefore, charges them to ensure that anytime they are to embark on operation, they should liase with any of the military formation within their locality in order to do it jointly. The military according to the Corps herdsman has graciously agreed to collaborate and partner with the corps in stamping out vandalism, illegal bunkering and oil theft.
Abolurin cautions the Corps personnel mostly those of  the Lagos State Command to be calm as law+- abiding citizen and not to carry out any reprisal attack or transfer aggression but to maintain the status quo of existing friendships with other agencies in spite of the ugly event that occurred in Lagos this morning.
