Manchester City's Roberto Mancini
Manchester City will meet Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final on 11 May after ending Chelsea's quest for a fifth triumph in seven attempts. City opened broke the deadlock in the 35th minute through Samir Nasri, the French midfielder scoring from close range after Yaya Toure's surging run.
Aguero's 47th-minute header made it 2-0 before holders Chelsea hit back in a pulsating semi-final. Demba Ba's 66th-minute shot on the turn gave Chelsea hope but City hung on. Roberto Mancini's City will start next month's final favourites to win the competition for the second time in three seasons after surviving a late Chelsea fightback.
Rafael Bentiez's side came from 2-0 down to force a replay against Manchester Untied in the quarter-finals before overcoming Sir Alex Ferguson's side in a replay.
But there was no fightback this time, Chelsea's pursuit of silverware now resting with the Europa League.
City appeared to be in complete control after Aguero's 15th goal of the season.
But Ba's goal changed the complexion of the tie and it required a brave save by goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, who was starting in place of Joe Hart, to earn five-times winners City a place in the final.
