At least five people lost their lives when violence broke out on Wednesday  between some youths and Fulani herdsmen in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Council of Kogi State. According to an eye witness account, the violence broke when the Fulani herdsmen and their cattle strayed into the farm of a local farmer damaging the farm substantially.

The farmer, who was said to have wedded a fortnight ago, was said to be working on his farm when he noticed that the Fulani herdsmen had encroached on his farm.

His attempt to drive away the cows and the herdsmen later degenerated into a fight in which he lost his life.
