President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday terminated the appointment of his Special
Adviser (Political), Alhaji Ahmed Gulak,
with immediate effect. The termination of Gulak's appointment, was contained in a
terse statement issued by Jonathan's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,
Dr. Reuben Abati.
The president thanked
Gulak for his services to his administration and wished him success in
his future endeavours. According to the statement, a replacement for Gulak will be
announced in due course.
However, no reason was given for the sudden sack of the
political adviser. Checks indicated that Gulak's sack may not be unconnected to
the running battle he had with Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio.
