“We wish to state loud and clear that Suswam does not engage in frivolous travels abroad as being insinuated by the ACN under the guise concerned stakeholders,” he said. He stated further that the governor made only six official trips abroad last year.

According to him, “it is on record that in the outgone year (2012), Suswam made only six official trips abroad. In September, 2012, he accompanied President Goodluck Jonathan on his invitation to the annual UN meetings in New York. In the month of October, he was in Windhoek, Namibia to attend a special investment Forum organised by the
Ambassadors of Nigeria and Namibia on the business opportunities in the two countries. In the same month, Suswam travelled to Israel for a private Christian pilgrimage in line with his faith as a Christian. Suswam was also in Atlanta, USA last December to inspect hospital equipment worth millions of naira being donated to the state hospital system by Medshare, an NGO based in Atlanta. His latest trip to the New York, which lasted for a week was part of his annual vacation for 2012 which he spent the first part in his home town, Anyiin, Logo Local Government Area of the state,” he added.
He also maintained that the governor was always handing over power to his deputy, Chief Steven Lawani, at anytime he had cause to travel abroad. He said investigations revealed that the mischief makers are members of the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the state, which was represented by a fake name-Ahime  Akimbi, as leader to the  group.
