TAMBUWAL AND HIS SA, MEDIA, IMAM IMAM |
Expectedly, the show of shame at the recently held recruitment examination of the Nigerian Immigration Service, drew condemnation from so many
quarters and rightfully so. One of such was the Speaker House of
Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, who said the death of the applicants should be
investigated.
While describing the deaths as unfortunate, the speaker had in a statement released by
his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Imam Imam, said the incident
was more regrettable considering the fact that the young people were at the
screening centers in search of jobs that would have bettered their lots and
that of their loved ones.
Lamenting the unemployment problem facing the nation, he
called for investigation into the remote and immediate causes of the tragedy,
in order to map out strategies to prevent future occurrence, adding that the
government at all levels should work closely with the organised private sector
to tackle the unemployment problem facing the nation.
