*To be hosted at a Grand National Reception by the Presidency
 Members of the all-conquering Super Eagles who Sunday night ended 
Nigeria’s 19 years wait for another African Cup of Nations trophy in 
South Africa are to be hosted by President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday 
night in Abuja where they are to be presented with several 
mouth-watering packages for winning the 29th edition of the continental 
football fiesta.
 Sources close to the Presidency disclosed to THISDAY Monday night that 
Super Eagles players and coaches are to be presented with national 
honours ranging from MON to OON in addition to been offered cash and 
land in choice parts of the Federal Capital city, Abuja.
 “Members of the victorious Super Eagles and their coaches are to get 
cash running into millions of naira in addition to national honours 
ranging from MON to OON. They are to also get plots of land in choice 
part of Abuja at the Grand National Reception planned for Tuesday 
night,” revealed the top government source Monday night. 
 The source stressed that the Presidency was not going to spare anything
 in giving a befitting reception top the team for bringing the honour to
 the country.
 The reward package been planned for the AFCON 2013 winners is 
reminiscent of what the Alhaji Shehu Shagari administration did for the 
class of 1980 led by Christian Chukwu that won the trophy a second time 
for Nigeria as host of the continental football showpiece. They were 
given national honours, brand new Peugeot 504 cars and flats in FESTAC 
Town.
 Meanwhile, the Super Eagles’ contingent will depart Johannesburg 
Tuesday morning and land at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, 
Abuja in the afternoon.
 Assistant Director, Media of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ademola 
Olajire, confirmed Monday that  Sports Minister, Mallam Bolaji 
Abdullahi, who worked assiduously with the NFF’s top echelon to 
accomplish the glorious outing, will lead the Nigeria delegation of 
players, officials, NFF President, NSC management, NFF Executive 
Committee members and Management, NSC and NFF staff, stakeholders, media
 representatives and members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, 
from the O.R. Tambo International Airport.
 Officials confirmed Monday that the players and officials will be 
driven into the Abuja metropolis in a motorcade, straight to the 
Presidential Villa, where President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, will host 
the team to a Grand State Reception and reward players and officials.
