EXLUSIVE: Al Mustapha was a Model Prisoner- Prison authorities

Hours after the Court of Appeal in Lagos discharged and acquitted the former Chief Security Officer, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, to late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha,  for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, he was released from the Kirikiri Maximum Prison where he was incarcerated for 15years.

This is just as he was described as a model prisoner throughout his stay behind bars, who adhered to the discipline instilled in him during his military training and career.

Immediately the court judgment was read, checks revealed that the Controller, Nigeria Prisons Service, Lagos State Command, Catherine Nkolika Ononye, sent a directive for security beef up at the prison and its environs to forestall any insurgency.

When contacted the Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Prison Command, Biyi Jeje, said the major's was a model prisoner who conformed to the rules governing the environment as well as became well versed in lawn tennis, a sports he knew nothing about before his foray behind the walls.
