The crisis of supremacy between the National Working Committee (NWC) and the Special National Convention Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is taking a turn for the worse as the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, locked out the Chairman of the convention committee, Prof. Jerry Gana and the secretary, who is also the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, out of his private residence in Wuse II, Abuja. This took place Wednesday before Tukur travelled.
Also arising from a meeting, the South-east Vanguard of the party has cautioned against the hijack of offices by members of the PDP in the zone, stating that it was such impunity that eventually made the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reject the March 24, 2012 national convention.

THISDAY gathered from an eyewitness account that Gana and Ekweremadu had gone to the residence of the PDP national chairman as early as 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday to inform him of the progress so far made by the committee and also to inform him of the new date for the special national convention, but  Tukur's aides refused  to allow them into his residence.
According to the aides of the PDP national chairman, “the chairman had travelled before their arrival,” but Gana and Ekweremadu suspecting foul play, insisted that Tukur was inside his residence as all his security details were intact.
The drama continued when Gana came out of his car to sit at the police tent in front of Tukur's house, while Ekweremadu sat in his official car marked, "Deputy Senate President".
After waiting in vain for about 20 minutes without gaining access to the residence, they left with a message with one of the security operatives of the chairman to inform him of their visit.
