Poor quality service being experienced by mobile telephone users across the country has been attributed to system overhaul by the service providers, aggressive promotion of their brands and preponderance of attacks by Boko Haram adherents as well as  the effects of flood that ravaged many communities.

Communications Minister Omobolaji Johnson enumerated these problems to State House correspondents at the close of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday.

According to her, the ministry has been in touch with the service providers, state governments and other stakeholders on how best to tackle these issues, saying that a consensus has been reached that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will play a decisive role in curtailing congestion of mobile telephone traffic while the service providers will upgrade their provision of service or get sanctioned.
