Over 200 residents, including women and children, have fled Wase town in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, following the violent communal crises between the Huasa/Fulani and the Tarok, that have wrecked untold havoc on the people of the area.
It was gathered that the death toll following Monday attacks on Zango and Wase has risen to over 40, even as the lawmaker representing the zone has urged the community leaders to wade into the crisis.
A source said that there have been pockets of killings in the area after the Monday crisis leading to more deaths, putting the death toll at 40, explaining that more corpses were discovered on Tuesday morning.
