The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Adaku Onwuliri, whose husband, Prof. Celestine Onwuliri, was among those killed in the ill-fated June 3, Dana crash, Sunday said the airline was yet to contact the family for compensation one year after.

She stated this, when the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Plateau State held a memorial service for her late husband, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church permanent site of the university. The minister described her husband as a God fearing person, who supported the country, the church and contributed to the world of knowledge before his demise.

“My husband brought a lot of research grants to the University of Jos. He supervised over 25 PhD holders and has published over 200 articles; both national and international journalism,” she said.

The late Onwuliri rose through the ranks of the UNIJOS to become acting vice-chancellor before withdrawing his services.
