Jonathan Mourns Chavez

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday joined scores of world leaders in mourning the passing of his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez, who died after a long battle with cancer. The president, on behalf of himself, the Federal Government and the people of Nigeria, extended his sincere commiserations to the government and people of Venezuela.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati said he (the President) and Nigerians join the brotherly people of Venezuela in mourning President Chavez who greatly endeared himself to the ordinary people of his country with his admirable efforts to improve the living conditions of underprivileged Venezuelans.
