EXCLUSIVE: How We Planned and Kidnapped Briton-Suspect

Lagos PRO, Braide
One of the suspected gang members that hatched and effected the kidnap of a British nationale, Mr. Dickson Lee, yesterday regaled onlookers how the operation went down and how he was finally arrested and the Briton rescued.

The suspect, Benson Chukwuemeka, is currently being detained at the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the Lagos State Police Command over his alleged roles in the kidnapping of Lee on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 along Mafoluku area, Murtala Mohammed International Airport Road, Lagos.

On how the deal was hatched and executed, the 27-year-old suspect said he got involved when one of his friends,  Nonye, invited him to Lagos because his business was not   thriving and then incorporated him in the deal.

Benson was nabbed at Satellite Town Estate, along the Badagry/Seme Road, Lagos, on Sunday in the evening, when he wanted to collect the ransom of 1million dollars as was agreed with the contact person from the British High Commission.

After planning, the operation was executed flawlessly and after the British High Commission had supposedly agreed to the terms of the ransom, Benson was dispatched to collect the money at the designated spot.

He however received a shocker when instead of the contact person, he met a combined team of detectives from both the SIB and the SP Abba Kyari-led Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
